Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions are applicable for all clients of Alternative Travel, and affiliated companies.

Website Conditions
By using www.alternativetravel.ro, you agree to be legally bound by these terms, which shall take effect immediately.

If you do not agree to be legally bound by all the following Terms & Conditions, please do not use Alternative Travel website.

Alternative Travel may change these Terms & Conditions at any time by posting changes online. Please review these Terms & Conditions regularly to ensure you are aware of any changes made by Alternative Travel. Your continued use of Alternative Travel websites after changes are posted, means you agree to be legally bound by these terms as updated and/or amended.

Your use of alternativetravel.ro is intended for personal, use and/or to make legitimate requests to book the products or services offered, or sell the services you offer. You agree not to use this site to make any speculative, false or fraudulent requests. You agree not to use robots or other automated means to access this site, unless specifically permitted by Alternative Travel.

We grant you permission to use the site subject to the restrictions in these Terms & Conditions. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, download, post, broadcast, transmit, make available to the public, or otherwise use content owned by Alternative Travel (inclusive of text, images, URLs, pricing information, etc.) in any way except for your own personal use.

Booking Conditions

Day Tours
Alternative Travel confirms a booking after a 20% deposit. Once Alternative Travel has accepted a booking and received a payment, the contract between us and client will become binding.

Multi Day Tours
Alternative Travel confirms a booking when an agreed deposit has been paid. Once Alternative Travel has received a payment and accepted a booking, the contract between Alternative Travel and client will become binding.

Client Responsibility
Upon booking you confirm that you have studied and familiarized yourself with the terms and conditions of Alternative Travel and fully agree to all terms and conditions. You also confirm that you fulfill all conditions set by Alternative Travel and are physically able to follow our instructions and partake in all activities planned for you and operated by us. If unsure please contact our office.

Parents and/or legal guardians take full responsibility of damages caused by passengers they are responsible for. Children (under 18 years) cannot use the services of Alternative Travel without accompanying parent or legal guardian.

Changes by you
Should you wish to make any changes to your confirmed holiday, you must notify us in writing as soon as possible. Whilst we will endeavour to assist, we cannot guarantee we will be able to meet any such requests. A change of holiday dates will normally be treated as a cancellation of the original booking and rebooking in which case cancellation charges will apply. Changes may result in the recalculation of the holiday price where, for example, the basis on which the price of the original holiday was calculated has changed.

If any member of your party is prevented from travelling, the person(s) concerned may transfer their place to someone else (introduced by you) providing we are notified not less than one week before departure.


Prices are listed in euro and all payments can be done by credit card, bank transfer, wire transfer or cash.

Our Liability & Compensation
Saga Travel will accept liability for the negligence of its employees causing direct physical injury to passengers only to the extent that it is obliged under Roumanian law. Alternative Travel cannot be held responsible for any mishap to yourself or your property, and in particular for the consequences of flight cancellations, vehicle accidents, strikes, sickness, Government, customs or police intervention or other such happenings amounting to force majeure. By confirming your booking you acknowledge that we have taken all reasonable steps to safeguard our liability in this respect.

Accommodations are based on double occupancy. Participants who specifically request single accommodations (subject to availability) must pay a single supplement fee, which is noted in the Detailed Itinerary.
Changes and Cancellations by Alternative Travel
Before you enter into a contract with us, we reserve the right to change any of the facilities or services described in our brochure or website. We also reserve the right to cancel the booking do to weather and/or other conditions. Any changes are usually very minor and we will advise you at the earliest possible date. If a major change, such as change in departure time, becomes necessary, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible your tours begins. When a major change or cancellation occurs you will have the choice of accepting the change of arrangements, purchasing another available tour from us, or cancelling your tour. If booking is cancelled we will refund all payments made directly to us in respect of the tour price. We will not refund any personal expenses you may have incurred as a result of your booking such as flight payments for land-only tours, travel insurance, equipment purchases, visas, vaccinations etc.


If it becomes necessary for you to cancel or transfer to a different trip, the following fees will apply, calculated from the date we receive a written cancellation notice, which can be sent by email.


More then 60 days prior to departure: 50% of the deposit

60 days or less: 100% of the deposit

*Cancellation and transfer schedules may differ for certain group trips. These exceptions are clearly indicated in the Detailed Itineraries for each of these trips.

Rates are based on group participation and no partial refunds will be given for unused trip arrangements for any reason whatsoever. If you are confirmed on a trip that requires a medical form signed by a doctor, normal cancellation penalties apply if your doctor does not sign the form.


Alternative Travel reserves the right to cancel any trip prior to departure for any reason whatsoever, including insufficient sign-ups or logistical problems that may impede trip operations. In such a case, a full refund of all land payments is given, which will release Alternative Travel from any further liability. A trip with insufficient sign-ups would normally be cancelled a minimum of one week prior to departure.

If a trip is cancelled due to force majeure (acts of God, war, labor strikes, earthquakes, flooding, etc.), Alternative Travel does not guarantee recovery of any or all of the advance payments made, and our use of good faith efforts to recover these payments will not include the institution of any legal proceedings in foreign jurisdictions.
